DAY 1- 22nd August 2008

• Arrival to Zagreb, capital of Croatia; organized group sightseeing

• Welcome party with  a barbecue at Jarun Lake followed by various get to know games, guitar playing, having fun... Smiling
• Sleepover at the students dormitories nearby



DAY 2 – 23rd August 2008.

• Breakfast  and starting the journey to the picturesque north-western part of Croatia called «Hrvatsko Zagorje». You surely didn‘t know that in Croatian Zagorje there is  0,5‰ alcohol in the air! Eye-wink Every house has it‘s own vineyard and «klet» (one-storey wooden house used for storing wine), but that is just a small part of what Zagorje can offer you! It is a candidate for being the most idyllic part of Croatia; green hills dotted with romantic castles, thermal springs, vineyards and  churches, tales and legends, a return to the old life as recalled in stories and books and much more!!

• arrival to KUMROVEC, visiting the ethno museum “Old Village” as well as  the birth house of Marshall Josip Broz Tito Museum “Old Village” is a unique open air ethno museum in Croatia. It consists of approx. 30 houses preserved and renovated in their original form dating back to 19th century. We will take you to the time of our grandgrandfathers and you will get to experience how they lived and worked!  You will also get the opportunity to visit the birth house of Josip Broz Tito who was the long standing president of former Yugoslavia as well as one of the key European political figures during WW II and 20th century in general!

• Lunch in “Zagorska klet”, one of the houses in the ethno “Old Village” Museum.
Food is another thing that sparkles Croatian Zagorje, and for every meal we prepare you  some local specialities, so try and judge for yourself! All food is produced locally and prepared lovingly by Zagorje people!

• Visiting hot springs TERME TUHELJ- well-known destination and resort for day trippers.
If you ever asked yourself why Croatian national football team is so successful the answer possibly lies in the healing water of Tuhelj Springs where they spend time before big competitions! There are three large indoor and five outdoor swimming pools, sauna, underwater massage facility and toboggan-.real adrenaline experience in the one of the most beautiful Spa in Croatia
Hot springs of Tuhelj have often been called “The Smelly Spa” because of the characteristic smell of sulphur! Tuhelj springs are rich in minerals and the average temperature of 32.5° Celsius makes indoor and outdoor swimming equally pleasant.

• Arrival to our overnight place Vila “Vodopija” in Kumrovec
Here we will have a short rest followed by a dinner including some local food and drink. We will try to teach you how to make “pecinjeki” and after that how to party like a real “Zagorec” person, so do you best and party as if you were born in Zagorje cause you might just win an award!

DAY 3- 24th August 2008.

• Moving forward to castle TRAKOŠĆAN.
If you think that the most romantic moment in your life was “that kiss” below Eiffel tower, well you weren‘t in Trakošćan, one of the most beautiful castle in Croatia. Trakoscan was built in the 13th century. It is located near the lake, on a hill , with a beautiful garden within a park-forest and it belongs to the cultural and natural monuments of the top category.  This castle has been a museum since 1953.

•    visiting the Museum of Evolution
You will hunt warm climate rhinoceros, wild cattle and many other animals with your pretty old cousin, “Krapina man”, Homo sapiens neanderthalensis through Hušnjak hill, the world's richest Neanderthal finding site.
The famous Croatian archeologist Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger in the year 1899 found the first fossils indicating this was going to be a great discovery of  more remains of the Neanderthal Man. Later on, the name Krapina man was given to the Homo sapines species found on this territory. The total of  876 fossils found on this excavation site during six years research puts Krapina in the first place on the list of the richest Neanderthal finding sites in the world
